The goal of this project for my DES 050 Introduction to 3-D Design course was to design and construct a unique seating tool. I wanted my end design to provide a comfortable seat while also giving strangers or friends the opportunity to connect and start a conversation with one another. The double triangle formation is meant to allow users to sit or lie down facing toward each other. The triangles are also detachable, allowing them to be stacked alongside other triangles and form a longer bench-like seating tool. The process of this project involved several sketching iterations, a more refined Illustrator version of the prototype, a mini proportional laser-cut scale model, a life-sized version made from plywood, and a final poster describing the design and its process.
